There is a growing fashion craze for divers to wear modern technical or sports fabrics during every day activities.

It is a trend that Fourth Element has noticed and it inspired them to produce something different for the diving community. An environmentally positive range of casual clothing that performs in a technical manner.

Fourth Element has successfully sourced a certified environmental combo fabric that utilises polyester and a recycled fibre; coffee. Post consumer waste - used coffee grounds - are collected from the coffee shops and processed into a cellulose based fibre. The material is similar to bamboo fibre, and has been recognised by the bluesign® system. This stringent Swiss agency certifies that the fabric has been produced with minimal environmental impact. It focuses on the input and processing - how water and energy resources are used - to ensure that the final textile product is sustainable.

The resulting 'coffee clothing' has the appearance and feel of luxurious cotton. The diver gains extra benefits in that this fabric 'performs in a technical manner'. It wicks, has excellent UV protection and did you know coffee has anti-odour properties too?

'Strata' translates as 'layer', hence this range of clothing will normally be worn next to the skin. It is flexible in that it can be technical product such as a thermal base layer, and because it looks so good, it can double as a beautiful lifestyle product too. The Strata collection includes a mens shirt and boxer briefs and a ladies long sleeved top and briefs.

All in all I am not surprised that Fourth Element are quietly proud and confident of producing these clothes in the best possible way.
