The Utah, USA based manufacturer confirmed on social media that both the front mounted counterlung and back mounted counterlung variants passed all tests in accordance with EN 14143:2013.

A spokesman stated "We are pleased to present the PRISM 2 to our European customers and couldn’t be happier with the performance results."

The PRISM 2 was officially launched in 2012, after Hollis improved on the older PRISM Topaz unit.

The PRISM Name

In the late 1980's a recently retired British Royal Navy sailor - Peter Readey - decided that rebreathers were the way forward, and he started building prototypes. He would eventually name his rebreather the 'Prism'. This acronym is short for 'Peter Readey's Incredible Steam Machine'.
