James Robertson looked like Ironman when he proudly held the cover of the SE7EN to his chest during last month’s DEMA Show, whilst Poseidon unveiled their latest rebreather. Apparently the name comes from the ‘7’ new features this closed-circuit rebreather benefits from.

Apparently the name comes from the ‘7’ new features this closed-circuit rebreather benefits from.

These include Generation 7 (G7) electronics making the SE7EN firmware 40 – 50 times faster than previous Poseidon products.

Divers gain speedy connectivity, courtesy of Bluetooth, so they are able to download their dive logs or update settings in seconds. The Dive Management System (now Mac compatible) allows divers to configure their rebreather in minutes and there is enhanced remote support should you get into a fix. The whole unit is encased in a rather sexy ‘Marvel reminiscent’ case, complete with grab rails.

Finally moments of high stress “when you really don’t want to take your mouthpiece out to bailout” have been accounted for. Poseidon has upgraded their Bail-out Valve (BOV) mouthpiece, so that the diver can keep it in place to ensure the simplest of switches from closed circuit to open circuit.
