Press Release

The amazing Bligh Water – known as Fiji’s # 1 Dive Region and the ‘soft coral capital of the world’.

Volivoli Beach Resort is Fiji’s stand out Premier Diver Resort is fortunate enough to be situated right on the edge of the Bligh Water and their in-house dive operation, Ra Divers Fiji, dive these remarkable waters 365-days a year, and in 2020 are celebrating ‘Diving the Bligh’ for 30-years. With seven (7) different regions and over eighty (80) dive sites on their ‘dive menu’ to choose from, picking just one (1) is always a tough ask however wherever we venture you really can’t go wrong.

The first thing you will notice is the state of the art dive operation from world-class compressor facilities through to modern serviced rental equipment and dive training from the very first encounter right through to instructor level. Looking seaward from the white sandy beach and their five (5) purpose built dive boats are ready for ‘exploring the Bligh’ in both comfort and speed.

No matter where the day’s agenda takes you there is almost a guarantee divers will be engulfed with brightly colored tropical fish action from the moment you step off the boat. A regular favorite for many divers is the genuinely world-class Mellow Yellow in Vatu-i-Ra. This site has 2-main pinnacles starting at 3m/10’ and sloping off to the sea floor at 40m/130’. The pinnacles themselves, as the name indicates, are covered with golden yellow soft coral as well as a myriad of black, blue, purple, orange and red corals adorning the pinnacle walls. Divers can also expect to see pygmy seahorses, scorpion leaf fish, banded sea crates and of course more brightly colored antheas busily darting around than can possibly be counted. Like most sites in the Bligh Water the tops of these pinnacles are filled with anemone and anemone fish, a perfect way to spend your safety stop with these amazing little guys. Look into the deeper water for schools of barracuda, jacks and of course curious grey reef sharks all waiting the opportunity for a snack. Mellow Yellow will certainly remain on many divers ‘most memorable dive’ list for a long time.

To come and experience world-class ‘valet diving’ from this beautiful award winning boutique resort will leave you with a lifetime of amazing memories and their team feeling like family.

If you’re not a diver and want to learn then go no further, you will be in safe hands with Fiji’s most experienced team, if you are already a diver and looking to up-skill they can take you right through to Instructor level , they also offer a great range of marine ecology courses for the inquisitive minds, or if you simply want to relax on the beach or around the pools with a refreshing drink they can certainly cater for you all.
