The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Annual Summit 2016 will be held at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort in Guam, from May 18-21, 2016.
The summit is the significant and historic event in Guam. It will be the first time for Guam to showcase its meetings and conventions facilities and services during the 4-day event. The launch of the Guam Convention Center inside the Dusit Thani Guam Resort heralds a new era for tourism in Guam as the hotel works with stakeholders to promote the island as a first-class destination for both business and leisure travelers alike. With over 1,169sqm of flexible event space, the largest meeting and banquet facility in Micronesia, the Guam Convention Center pairs ideal event venues with impeccable, gracious hospitality. The Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,000 attendees for a seated dinner and is joined by two Royal Ballrooms, the Salons, the Cellar, Pantry, Living Room and Study, for a total of 10 function spaces that cater to events of any size. The Convention Center is further complemented by the resort's innovative dining portfolio consisting of six restaurants and lounges. It is believed that the summit also creates awareness for Guam’s infrastructure to host the M.I.C.E. market.
Total 200-400 delegates and international journalists are welcomed to join the summit. It targets to industry professionals, business owners or different parties from around the world who are interested in an effort to drive the sustainable growth, value and quality of travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific region, and provide the best platform for networking opportunities throughout the summit. This year PATA, in partnership with the UNWTO, will be holding a half-day UNWTO Pacific Islands Ministerial Meeting. Those registered for the conference will receive complimentary access to this high level meeting, as well as other networking events.
