DDRC Healthcare launches cancer survey
Are you a diver that has been diagnosed with cancer? If you are, DDRC Healthcare would like to hear from you.
DDRC Healthcare is a medical treatment, training and research not-for-profit organisation, based in Plymouth UK.
The diving medicine research team wants to gain a better insight into cancer and diving as part of their on-going 'Health of Divers' project.
Research has indicated that physical activity may have beneficial effects for several aspects of cancer survivorship, hence DDRC would like to find out more information as to how divers who have had – or currently have – cancer, view the sport of diving.
If you have been diagnosed with cancer did you keep on diving whilst undergoing your treatment? Or did you resume diving after recovering from the cancer and treatment? Did you have to give up diving as a result of your illness or surgery? Did diving help with your recovery? Was it possible to continue diving?
It doesn't matter where you are located in the world, DDRC would like to hear from you
The questions are entirely anonymous, and the information untraceable to participants.
There is a lot to learn in a field where there is not much data relating to cancer and diving, therefore this project looks as though it will yield some valuable diving research.
There is a maximum of 40 questions in this survey but participants will not have to answer them all, so it should take no more than five minutes to complete.
