The 59th annual NOGI Awards event will be held on Thursday 14 November 2019, in Orlando and you could attend this prestigious party.

NOGI award honorees are soley nominated by and voted for by previous NOGI award recipients. Membership in this group of fellows is, without question, a unique and distinctive honour.

This year the Academy of Underwater Arts & Sciences (AUAS) awardees are:

  • Brian Skerry, 'Arts' NOGI
  • Dr Tom Neuman 'Science' NOGI
  • Dr Wallace Nichols 'Environment' NOGI
  • Eric Hanauer 'Sports/Education' NOGI
  • Jerry Greenberg 'Distinguished Service' NOGI

The NOGI Award recognises individuals who have made significant career contributions to our sport. Dan Orr, AUAS President

There are many parties and dinners during the DEMA Show, one of the coolest has got to be the NOGI Dinner. This is a fascinating evening because you get to rub shoulders with some distinguished scientists, explorers, environmentals and artists who have done some remarkable things, yet they are not always household names in scuba diving.

The AUAS has stated it is not possible to gurantee a ticket on the night, hence they suggest you book a ticket now.

The NOGI Awards

The NOGI Awards are acknowledged as the oldest and most prestigious in the diving industry, yet they are probably the least well known. They are given to a select group of divers and undersea visionaries who rank at the top of their fields in arts, science, sports / education, environment, and distinguished service.
