Maxshow - the KUBI Dryglove System global distributor, and the official distributor for Miflex Hoses - has confirmed that their nominated charity for 2020 is to be the LOROS Hospice.
This is not the first time that Maxshow has supported a charitable cause. In 2011, Dr Dawn Kernagis launched 'Project Pink Tank' to help improve our understanding of diver health among breast cancer survivors. Her initial research was supported by funds from PADI, Duke Dive Medicine and VR Technology.
In 2013, Project Pink Tank needed further funds. I discussed this with Peter Wilson, CEO of Maxshow, and asked him if he would be able to assist to help push Project Pink Tank forward. As a result of this request, Maxshow ran a special promotion on their vibrant lightweight pink hoses and raised £965 (US$1,600). The funds were presented to Gene Hobbs of the Rubicon Foundation and Dr Dawn Kernagis of #ProjectPinkTank at the Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology at Duke University Medical Center in April 2014.
This charity cares for over 2,500 people every year who live in the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland, England. LOROS provides free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.
Paying it forward
Maxshow has confirmed that they will donate a minimum of £1 from every customer order despatched from their headquarters for the next few months. In addition, Maxshow purchased 300 x £1 LOROS scratch cards on 6 February. These have / are being sent out in customer orders, on a first-come, first served basis. If you have received one of these scratch cards, it is possible that you could have won up to £1,000.
We hope that you can support us, in assisting this excellent charity. Thank you.
